The Day before the Coronation of a King

LONDON, England. With just an hour’s sleep since 7:00 AM est, yesterday. We are starting our 10th hour holding our spot on The Mall leading to Buckingham Palace. We have 13 more hours to go before the official procession starts. We have had mostly sun today and everyone has enjoyed the day celebrating this historic event and making new friends.

By all means it’s been 70 years since there has been a coronation.

The Royals, William, Catherine, and King Charles surprised the crowds with a stop-and-greet people gathering to watch the coronation. The crowds went wild. I could not believe I actually got the chance to shake hands with King Charles as he met people today. What possibly would be the odds for such an unexpected and amazing experience as easily over 200,000+ have gathered on the procession’s path around London.

Rain briefly came and went today, but we had much more sun than anyone could have expected. We have pitched our makeshift tents for the night. Rains should stay away through the rest of the night but we should be, accordingly to current weather, well into rains for the first carriage passing by going to Westminster. We may be lucky when the Gold Carriage returns with the King and Queen, the rains hopefully will have cleared. Maybe the Sun gods will grant us good weather and hold off the rains.

As much tradition exists in the monarchy, you will note that tomorrow the world will meet the King and Queen. When a male is an heir to the Throne, the Country also gains a Queen “consort”. If the heir to the throne was female, the country would have a Queen but their spouse would be a Prince/Dutch.
As Queen Elizabeth II reigned for 70 years, it could potentially be 70 or more years before there is another Queen based on the current order to the Throne. King Charles > Prince William > Prince George > his firstborn.

So we count down the hours till morning, sharing the night with many from around the world, laughter, stories, and anticipation of tomorrow are shared by all.

Signing off tonight from the streets of London, England! Much Love!
