Welcome to a quick glimpse into Israel where we will travel through the Old City of Jerusalem and across the Judean Desert to heights of Masada. Jerusalem is considered by many as one of the holiest places in the world.
Jerusalem is important to the Jewish people because it is Ir Ha-Kodesh (the Holy City),the City of David, Solomon’s Temple, and the revered ruins of Masada. For Chrisitians, Jerusalem is the place of the cruxification, the last supper and the resurrection. Jerusalem is important to Muslims because it is where the prophet Muhammad ascended to heaven. Jerusalme is the third most important site for Muslims.
Jerusalem’s Old City is a bustling 35,000 human population that is divided into 4 distinct yet infused quarters. When traveling through the Old City, you will pass through the Jewish, Christian, Muslim and Armenian Quarters. Each filled with suks selling pottery, fabrics and market foods among many other items. The Old City is a working, thriving and sustaining community that dates back to 3000 BCE.
